15 Years!

Today was mine and my husbands 15th wedding anniversary! Fifteen years! We can joke about how it seems like it's been much longer, but earlier today, in a moment of seriousness, I realized that if Sky or I were to die today - fifteen years wouldn't really seem like all that long. Such a morbid thought for such a happy day, huh? But, that is the truth. I hope we have many more years together. I think it will be a rarity for people my age to make it to their 50th wedding anniversary (never mind 75th!). I think too many people pop the question or say yes without thinking beyond the party and social status. It's the little things that go on - away from the eyes and ears of others (and facebook) that make a marriage. When nothing is private anymore, nothing is special. Speaking of Facebook - I have created a second page for myself in hopes of permanantly deleting the first. I only have 143 friends - but no one ever replies to anything I write. So, who am I talking to??? That's why I like my blog. I can say what I want. I don't expect anyone to reply. But, I do have this unexplained desire to share. This way - I'm less likely to be upset when no one comments on my post stating that I'm celebrating my 15th wedding anniversary today. Okay - so it sounds like I am just jealous because I'm not popular, right? Well, that could be some of it. But, truthfully - I wish I didn't care. So, the best way to eliminate the problem - is to just get off Facebook alltogether. I have taken steps over the past year to do it, too. I made it so that if I want to see what's going on with a friend I have to go to their page, yet everyone who hasn't done the same to me - can still see my posts. Make sense? So, what is the point of my 2nd Facebook page? Well, it's like my one-stop shop for news and things that matter to me. I have WLUK, GB Press-Gazette, NOAA, Pulaski School District, NEW Zoo, RR Museum, imdb, some of my favorite authors, sports teams, etc. No actual people. It is quite convenient. Back to the topic at hand. . . Sky and I both worked today but called it quits early. We had a 2:30 tee time at Hilly Haven and really enjoyed our round of golf. Then, we went to Nakashima's and had a really wonderful and entertaining dinner! (And, I even have left overs!) But, we're old fogy's and not the least bit 'passionate.' We each concluded the evening relaxing. Which for Sky meant he went to play in a Poker Tournamant and I got to catch up on some TV show's and drink a couple cups of coffee (which could be why I'm still up and typing at 10:15 pm). :) It was a great day and I am very happy. Sky is a great husband, at times. I'm not perfect either. But, we do well together and I feel quite confident we can hit that 50 year mark - provided our health holds out!
