Completed Bench

Finally got my cushions made. The cushions cost me about $100. I had thought doing it myself would be cheaper, a bit of fabric, the cushions, some fabric glue. Ha!  But, I couldn't have gotten this lovely fabric if I settled for buying already made cushions. The bech itself was about $75 including paint. I'm very pleased.

Help Keep Our Guys In Town!

Friends and Family, Joshua began dancing this year and he loves it.  I do, too.  The experience has been phenomenal.  What is most unique about the dance studio he attends is that his teachers are guys.  We like that a lot.  Another thing is that the atmosphere is really friendly and less formal.  I haven't had a lot of experiences with other dance studios but in looking around it seems that parents are restricted from viewing the classes and that they have little input with music choices, costumes, or anything else.  From what I've learned most dance studio's run their business more like a 'you do what you are told' kind of school and don't allow the kids input and don't allow all their kids to go to competition if they aren't 'good enough.'  I don't do hurt feelings when it comes to signing up for and paying for something my child wants to participate in because he enjoys it - it seems like, to me, the joy gets stripped in the name of perfection at most dance studios.  I know I have a lot of friends with kids in other local dance studios who would say the kids do have fun.  But, none offer male teachers and I don't think any could replace the atmosphere, the friendships between instructors and parents, or  the feeling of home and family I feel with GDC!

Of course, a lot of this has to do with a horrible woman who was so enamoured by these two awesome dance instructors that she offered to sell them her business.  Then, she made their lives a living hell by not following through on agreements she made.  Even though the guys  have had an attorney get involved his fees have been an added cost that they just can't keep up with.  This woman, another dance instructor, has manipulated and defamed them to the point every day is a struggle.  I want to help these guys overcome and persevere because The Best Revenge - Is To Succeed!  Keep in mind Geno has put people on Broadway and in TV shows and Movies and Mike, a gymnastics instructor, has worked with gymnasts at the national and junior levels for many years!  Them coming into the lives of all those here in Green Bay and then being shoved away by one jealous woman is heartbreaking.  Leaving is not a choice they want but are being forced to do.  Please help them stay!

Thunderstruck Dance Competition - Green Bay, WI 2014

Joshua and L did a fantastic job on their routine!  They both nailed their kips (sp) and stayed in time with one another.  I was so excited for them!

However, (despite the amount of money we pay to participate) only one trophy is awarded.  L didn't have a trophy as this was his first dance and Joshua already had two, so L gets this one.

Geno and Mike are two talented guys who work really well with the kids.  They have a lot of fun and do great work.  I really enjoy being a part of this world.  Generation Dance Company is a great place to learn to dance!!!

The boys just after their dance!  So cool! :)
