Perhaps I should keep my mouth shut . . .

So I'm at Joshua's baseball game and the first inning he literally stood in one spot and did not move. So when I had the opportunity I told him that the next time he was on the field I wanted to see him move toward every single ball hit. He didn't just move toward every ball hit he moved TO every ball hit.a
Quite frankly it was a little embarrassing.

Plymouth Rock 2012

Joshua & Logan sharing a seat, Joshua playing egg baseball, girls gone wild in the middle of a game of garbage ball, sky in pool w Joshua. We had a fun time camping. It's always fun in a large group. Between us all there were 18 kids!

Joshua's First 5k!

Well, he finished just under an hour. Maybe due to the temperature??? I don't know - I'm sure he'll get better in time. He says he still wants to do it again next year. Good job, Joshua!

Tyler Bryant, crossed finish line at 29:17

Nice Job, Tyler!!! It was so HOTTTTTT today!!

Story time!

Apparently Pebbles wanted a story before bed. And she was thankful and gave Joshua a kiss goodnight.

Ahhhhh

I just watched the mini-series North & South. I wish I had read the book (didn't realize it was a book at first). BUT, it was so beautifully done! I LOVE Richard Armitage! He played Lucas North in Mi-5. I want this mini-series!

Update to my earlier rant about the PTO. . .

Okay - so, all is better now. I vented before about how if someone were to ask me if they could just do my job for me - I'd be totally happy to step down. Welllllll, now I'm retracting that! :) I was nervous, but I made it through my first PTO meeting with flying colors! We had lots of discussion and came up with agreements on fundraisers such as the book fair and we decided to have every other month PTO meetings. Since then, I've put out one newsletter that I thought looked nice and I am working on the next one. I have new volunteers for some of our previously open positions and will be implementing Family Nights again, with the help of another, eager volunteer. Whew! Of course, I know there will come a time again where I vent, and vent loudly. But, that's just the way it goes. . . For now - All Is Good!

15 Years!

Today was mine and my husbands 15th wedding anniversary! Fifteen years! We can joke about how it seems like it's been much longer, but earlier today, in a moment of seriousness, I realized that if Sky or I were to die today - fifteen years wouldn't really seem like all that long. Such a morbid thought for such a happy day, huh? But, that is the truth. I hope we have many more years together. I think it will be a rarity for people my age to make it to their 50th wedding anniversary (never mind 75th!). I think too many people pop the question or say yes without thinking beyond the party and social status. It's the little things that go on - away from the eyes and ears of others (and facebook) that make a marriage. When nothing is private anymore, nothing is special. Speaking of Facebook - I have created a second page for myself in hopes of permanantly deleting the first. I only have 143 friends - but no one ever replies to anything I write. So, who am I talking to??? That's why I like my blog. I can say what I want. I don't expect anyone to reply. But, I do have this unexplained desire to share. This way - I'm less likely to be upset when no one comments on my post stating that I'm celebrating my 15th wedding anniversary today. Okay - so it sounds like I am just jealous because I'm not popular, right? Well, that could be some of it. But, truthfully - I wish I didn't care. So, the best way to eliminate the problem - is to just get off Facebook alltogether. I have taken steps over the past year to do it, too. I made it so that if I want to see what's going on with a friend I have to go to their page, yet everyone who hasn't done the same to me - can still see my posts. Make sense? So, what is the point of my 2nd Facebook page? Well, it's like my one-stop shop for news and things that matter to me. I have WLUK, GB Press-Gazette, NOAA, Pulaski School District, NEW Zoo, RR Museum, imdb, some of my favorite authors, sports teams, etc. No actual people. It is quite convenient. Back to the topic at hand. . . Sky and I both worked today but called it quits early. We had a 2:30 tee time at Hilly Haven and really enjoyed our round of golf. Then, we went to Nakashima's and had a really wonderful and entertaining dinner! (And, I even have left overs!) But, we're old fogy's and not the least bit 'passionate.' We each concluded the evening relaxing. Which for Sky meant he went to play in a Poker Tournamant and I got to catch up on some TV show's and drink a couple cups of coffee (which could be why I'm still up and typing at 10:15 pm). :) It was a great day and I am very happy. Sky is a great husband, at times. I'm not perfect either. But, we do well together and I feel quite confident we can hit that 50 year mark - provided our health holds out!
